Historic Home Renovation in Carlisle, PA: Preserving a Local Gem
Nestled in the downtown historic district of Carlisle, this beautiful brick home, originally built in the late 1800s, underwent a full renovation that thoughtfully honors its heritage. From restoring original materials to incorporating timeless design elements, every detail of this project reflects the care and craftsmanship that define Cloward Building Concepts.

The exterior showcases a rich, historic paint color — Tri Corn Black — which contrasts beautifully with the home’s traditional yellow trim, a color that has graced the property for generations. The original brickwork was carefully preserved and cleaned, while the rear porch was repaired and the brick patio refreshed to maintain its charm and functionality.
Inside, the historic home renovation extended through the entire house, including a stunning kitchen and bathroom transformation. The bathroom features classic white subway tile, a Midnight Blue Harwell vanity from Style Selections, and Moen Lindor matte black fixtures that blend classic and modern aesthetics.
The kitchen balances old and new, incorporating the home’s original summer kitchen fireplace as a centerpiece alongside custom Kraftmaid cabinetry and a Calcutta Marble countertop from Precision Countertop.
Throughout the home, the original hardwood floors were refinished, and Mohawk Walking Trail carpet added warmth where needed.

This project is a celebration of Carlisle’s architectural history, preserved and updated with purpose and style. It’s a testament to what’s possible when craftsmanship meets respect for the past.
